Bitcoin Loans

What Is a Crypto-Backed Loan?

  • You put up your Bitcoin (BTC) or Ethereum (ETH) as collateral.

  • The lender gives you cash — often instantly and without a credit check.

  • You keep ownership of your crypto — it’s held securely, not used for other loans.

How It Works – Simple Steps

  1. Sign up.

  2. Deposit crypto as collateral. You can borrow up to 75% of its value — e.g., if you deposit $10,000 worth, you can borrow up to $7,500.

  3. Get funded and receive cash in your bank account.

Key Points to Know

  • Interest & term: Example — 9.9% interest at a 50% Loan-to-Value (LTV), typically for a 3‑month term.

  • Pay only interest monthly, or you may defer interest until the end (with a small fee).

  • At the end of the term, you pay back the loan plus any deferred interest, and get your crypto back.

Margin Calls – What Could Go Wrong?

  • If your crypto loses value, your LTV ratio goes up.

  • When LTV crosses certain levels, you’ll get a margin call: you must deposit more crypto or pay down cash fast.

  • If you don’t act, your crypto can be sold to protect the lender.

Why People Use These Loans

  • Keep holding crypto while getting cash — no need to sell your assets..

  • Get money quickly and easily, often same-day, without messing with your credit.

  • Use the money for big things like a car, home upgrade, travel, or more crypto investment .

Simple Example

  • You have 1 BTC worth $60,000.

  • You choose 50% LTV → borrow $30,000 cash.

  • Pay about 9.9% interest, maybe monthly interest-only.

  • If BTC value drops, you might get a margin call.

  • At the end of 3 months, you repay the $30,000 (plus interest), and your BTC is returned.

In Summary

A crypto-backed loan is a fast, flexible way to get cash by using your Bitcoin or Ethereum as security — without losing ownership. It’s great if you want cash now but expect crypto’s value to rise later. Just watch the LTV level carefully to avoid margin calls.
